Circle of Care's Holsinger Home

Holsinger Home is a premier facility that provides foster care for sibling groups and handicapped children ages 0 to 17. Located in Enid, the home is named in honor of Mrs. Juanita Holsinger and her late husband, Galen. Mr. and Mrs. Holsinger had a vision to build a home for needy children.

The Holsinger Home provides care for children who have been removed from their home due to problems such as physical or sexual abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, and family problems. The coordinators of the home are licensed by the state of Oklahoma, Department of Human Services (DHS) as foster parents for children in DHS custody.

The Holsinger Home for Children was officially dedicated in 1999 to provide a place where "at-promise" children of all ages could find help, healing, and hope in a hurting society. The Holsinger Home, with 3,800 square feet, has three bedrooms, one of which is handicapped accessible. It also has private living quarters for the coordinators of the home, a married couple. The home is a premier facility which can provide foster care for sibling groups, children and youth ages 0 to 17.

The basic premise of our program is that we do not see our children as "at risk" but "at promise," and we believe that being loved and accepted heals hurts that can be healed by no other means

That means the children in our program are provided with a loving, nurturing environment to help them see that there is a better way to live.

They are taught skills to help them deal with real-life situations and provided with the counseling help they need to turn their lives around. This encourages them to break the cycles of abuse and dependency in their own families and to live more productive lives.

They learn how to function better in the home, in their relationships, in school, and in society. The ultimate goal of the program is to reunite the children with their families whenever possible.

Our staff also provides the children with opportunities to discover and nurture their spirituality. They attend weekly church services, have devotions in their home, and are encouraged to take part in church activities.
